Thomas Pedersen

BSc(hons) Ost Med, DO, ND

My name is Thomas Nors Pedersen and I am a state registered osteopath. As you may be able to see from my name I was not born in this country but originate from Denmark. I came over here in 1995 to spend a year exploring this wonderful country – I got hooked and never went back. I trained at the British College of Osteopathy and Naturopathy where I completed a 4 year honours degree. Since qualifying in 2002 I have been working in private practice. I have also lectured in practical osteopathic skills at a London university for several years.

Since qualifying I have undertaken postgraduate courses in many subjects. These include cranial osteopathy, exercise and health, core stability. I am also a fully qualified yoga teacher.

Being an osteopath requires me to look after my health. I achieve this through regular exercise including cycling and yoga. I am a firm believer in helping people to look after their own health. The best way to achieve this will often involve me giving you exercises to do. These exercises are often inspired by my yoga practice.

I have a keen interest in exercise. When I was younger, I was a competitive swimmer and did many other sports. Over the years I have enjoyed practising tai chi and yoga as well as swimming and cycling. I feel that this enables me to offer a unique approach consisting of hands-on treatment, lifestyle advice and exercise rehabilitation.
